Applications are welcome to 1 position to reinforce IN+ team and competencies in Web Development and Data Science. You will be working as part of the ‘Industrial Ecology and Sustainability’ Laboratory, a group that is growing and seeking highly motivated candidates who wish to pursue research in areas that contribute to the integrated sustainability management of cities. 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for people excited about innovation and technology, willing to contribute to attractive projects with a high impact on society using innovative technologies. If you have knowledge and experience in Web Development and/or data integration and management, this position could be for you!

We are looking for candidates with the following profile:

  • Degree in computer engineering, electronic engineering, computer science, information management, information technology or related domains (MSc or PhD will be valued).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Web Development and/or data integration and management.
  • Knowledge of Python or R will be valued.
  • Previous participation in research and development and demonstrated interest in Energy and Sustainability topics are considered a plus.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English.

ROLE
You will integrate BE.Neutral Agenda - Mobility Agenda for carbon neutrality in cities, a collaborative R&D project funded through the Resilience and Recovery Plan (PRR-IAPMEI) that aims to position the Portuguese cities and industry in the future of mobility through a new generation of products and services oriented towards carbon neutrality. With this main objective in mind, you’ll participate actively in the research and demonstration activities of a Digital Twin for simulation of cities and/or mobility systems and will be particularly engaged in the design, development and maintenance of user-friendly data/information visualization systems, dashboards, web platforms, etc. Examples of activities to be developed include:

  • Debugging, tracing, and testing/correcting processes to code
  • Design, research, and development of tools necessary for the processing and analysis of data and results 
  • Maintenance of these tools, making them available to other IN+ teams and resources

CONDITIONS
We offer the integration into a dynamic and enthusiastic team under an unspecified fixed-term employment contract, possibly renewable following the best international practices. 

We expect you to start from June 2023 and your work will be developed at our facilities at IST Alameda and/or TagusPark.
