Applications are welcome to 1 position to reinforce IN+ team and competencies in User Engagement/User Experience Design. You will be working as part of the ‘Industrial Ecology and Sustainability’ Laboratory, a group that is growing and seeking highly motivated candidates who wish to pursue research in areas that contribute to the integrated sustainability management of cities.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for people excited about innovation and technology, willing to contribute to attractive projects with a high impact on society using innovative technologies. If you have knowledge and experience in User Engagement/User Experience Design, this position could be for you!

We are looking for candidates with the following profile:

  • PhD in Communication Sciences, Arts or related scientific areas.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in collaborative and user experience design.
  • Previous participation in research and development and demonstrated interest in Energy and Sustainability topics are considered a plus.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English.

ROLE
You will integrate BE.Neutral Agenda - Mobility Agenda for carbon neutrality in cities, a collaborative R&D project funded through the Resilience and Recovery Plan (PRR-IAPMEI) that aims to position the Portuguese cities and industry in the future of mobility through a new generation of products and services oriented towards carbon neutrality. With this main objective in mind, you’ll participate actively in the research and demonstration activities of a Digital Twin for simulation of cities and/or mobility systems and will be particularly engaged on user experience design and usability for energy and mobility efficiency measures, evaluation of “willingness-to-accept” based on socio-economic parameters, and dissemination of results. Examples of activities to be developed include:

  • Support for the development of citizen involvement strategies in the "Urban Digital twin" tools.
  • Support for the design of the software tool to implement the "Urban Digital twin" model.
  • Development of the specification for the "human computer interaction" in the "Urban Digital twin" tools.

CONDITIONS
We offer the integration into a dynamic and enthusiastic team for the development of research activities under an unspecified fixed-term employment contract up to 12 months, possibly renewable following the best international practices. 

We expect you to start from July 2023 and your work will be developed at our facilities at IST Alameda and/or TagusPark.
