In the framework of the EU Mission “Climate Neutral and Smart Cities”, the Centre for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research (IN+) is looking for specialists in Climate Funding and Innovative Financing for Cities.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The candidate should possess knowledge about funding (national or EU) for climate mitigation by cities, as well as innovative finance mechanisms for climate action projects. Furthermore, he/she should be able to perform cost-benefit analyses of climate actions and support municipalities with investment plans and exploring public-private partnerships.
We are open to receive applications from candidates with a master’s degree in Economics of Energy and Climate Change (or similar programs) and/or proven experience with climate finance for climate action. Experience with supporting municipalities is a plus. The candidate should be proficient in Portuguese and English (spoken and written).
YOUR ROLE
The candidate will be part of the ‘Industrial Ecology and Sustainability Laboratory' group which aims to contribute to sustainable cities through research and knowledge about decarbonization strategies (e.g. for transport and buildings) and urban metabolism (sustainable resources management). Furthermore, he/she will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team dedicated to climate neutrality and capacity-building at local and regional level.
The position will be full-time, starting (ideally) in (mid)February 2024.
