Applications are open for 1 Scientific Initiation Studentship, within the framework of project1801P.01138 - LA LARSyS - IN+, LA/P/0083/2020, financed by national funds through FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC), under the following conditions:

Scientific Area: Engineering and Management

Admission Requirements:
a) To be enrolled at a professional higher technical course, at a bachelor degree, at an integrated master or master degree in the field of Engineering, Industrial Management or related areas;
b) Experience in initiatives linked to the topics of social impact, circular economy and/or sustainability.
c) Proficiency in spoken and written English; knowledge of other languages is desirable.
d) Autonomy, proactivity, responsibility, ability to work in a team and manage people and projects.

Workplan: The candidate will be integrated into the IN+ "Technology Policy and Management Laboratory" and will participate in the following activities:
1. Analysing/case studies and developing scientific initiation work in the area;
2. Supporting the development and management of partnerships;
3. Support for organising events and activities;
4. Support for communication and promotion of the laboratory.

Workplace: The work will be developed at IN+ Center for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research, under the
scientific supervision of Professor Miguel Amaral and Professor Ana Carvalho

Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have the duration of 6 months. It’s expected to begin in October 2023,
and may be eventually renewed up to the maximum of 12 months.

Monthly maintenance allowance: According to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT in Portugal (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores), the amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is € 541.12, being the payment method an option of the Fellow by Wire Transfer/Check.

Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: curricular assessment (100%), with a possible individual interview for the candidates with the best curricular assessment. The following factors will be assessed in the CV evaluation: Curriculum (90%) and motivations (10%). Once the candidates have been ranked, an individual
interview may be held, in which case the interview will have a weighting of 25% and the curriculum evaluation 75% in the final classification. 

Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.

Deadlines and procedures of complaint and appeal. A complaint may be lodged from the final decision within 15 working days, or an appeal to the Executive Board of IST-ID within 30 working days, both counted from the respective notification.

Application deadline and formalization: The call is open from September 13 until 26 September, 2023.

It is mandatory to formalize applications with the submission of the following documents:
i) B1 Form – Fellowship application (https://ist-id.pt/concursos/bolsas/ );
ii) Curriculum Vitae;
iii) academic degree certificate, where applicable;
iv) proof of enrollment at an academic degree course or at a course that does not award an academic degree;
v) motivation letter;
vi) declaration on honour that the applicant does not exceed with this contract, including the possible renovations, an accumulated period of one year in this type of studentship, continuously or with interruptions, and has not held any other fellowship directly or indirectly funded by FCT.
