Applications are welcome to 6 PhD Fellowship positions. You will be working as part of the ‘Industrial Ecology and Sustainability’ Laboratory, a group that is growing and seeking highly motivated PhD candidates who wish to pursue research in areas that contribute to the integrated sustainability management of cities.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We’re looking for people excited about innovation and technology, willing to develop research oriented to impact society. Preferably, you have already concluded your MSc degree or equivalent and you have knowledge in system engineering and energy simulation applied to building, mobility or waste management. Experience with the programming software Python will be considered a plus.
Fluency in written and verbal communication in English is required.

YOUR ROLE
You’ll integrate BE.Neutral Agenda, a project that aims to position the Portuguese cities and industry in the future of mobility through a new generation of products and services oriented towards carbon neutrality. With this main objective in mind, you’ll participate actively in the research and demonstration activities of a Digital Twin for simulation of cities and mobility systems, contributing to the development of solutions dedicated to integrated urban sustainability management.
CONDITIONS
The award of the fellowship implies your enrolment in a PhD. We may provide guidance/assistance on registry and supervision, if necessary.
The fellowship will have a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of renewal up to 4-years PhD. A monthly maintenance allowance will be paid according to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT in Portugal.
We expect you to start from May 2023 and your work will be developed at our facilities at Alameda and/or TagusPark.
