Applications are welcome to 2 doctorate positions to reinforce IN+ team and competencies in Digital Twin for simulation of cities and mobility systems. You will be working as part of the ‘Industrial Ecology and Sustainability’ Laboratory, a group that is growing and seeking highly motivated PhD candidates who wish to pursue research in areas that contribute to the integrated sustainability management of cities. 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for people excited about innovation and technology, willing to contribute to attractive projects with a high impact on society using innovative technologies. If you have already concluded your PhD and are interested in working in the development of urban building energy modelling, urban mobility simulation, waste management, public policies analysis or system optimization and artificial intelligence, this position could be for you!

We are looking for candidates with the following profile:

  • PhD
  • Knowledge of Python programming software
  • Experience in the field of Industrial Ecology
  • Fluency in written and verbal communication in English

ROLE
You will integrate BE.Neutral Agenda - Mobility Agenda for carbon neutrality in cities, a collaborative R&D project funded through the Resilience and Recovery Plan (PRR-IAPMEI) that aims to position the Portuguese cities and industry in the future of mobility through a new generation of products and services oriented towards carbon neutrality. With this main objective in mind, you’ll participate actively in the research and demonstration activities of a Digital Twin for simulation of cities and/or mobility systems.

CONDITIONS
We offer the integration into a dynamic and enthusiastic team for the development of research activities under an unspecified fixed-term employment contract up to 32 months, possibly renewable following the best international practices. 

We expect you to start from June 2023 and your work will be developed at our facilities at IST Alameda and TagusPark.
