Rui Semeano is a PhD candidate, enrolled on the Earth-Resources Douctoral Program at Instituto Superior Técnico. He finished his Masters’ degree at the same institution (2016), specializing in Modelling and Simulation of Mineral Processes. His Masters’ Dissertation subject was on Multicriteria Optimization of Froth Flotation Circuits, exploring the applications of a Genetic Algorithm. Rui is currently working with modelling, simulation and optimization of recyclable materials’ recovery/separation facilities (MRFs), under the scope of the Bee2WasteCrypto project.
His main research interests modelling and simulation of processes, operations research, optimization algorithms and applied machine learning.
