Ricardo Oliveira received his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2019 and his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning in 2022, both from the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa.
He is currently part of the IN+ PhD Fellowship Program, which is part of the Sustainable Energy Systems Doctoral Program.
In his master's thesis, he developed a computer tool that allowed the management and control of the energy flow between a house with almost zero needs and a mobility vehicle, so that the consumption of energy from the grid was minimized and the consumption of energy produced onsite was maximized.
As a PhD student, Ricardo is working to extrapolate the development of the tool to urban centers, exploring the impact of electric mobility networks on long-term residential consumption, in order to create isolated energy clusters and large-scale microgrid systems.
