Researcher Thermofluids, Combustion and Energy Systems

José Pereira holds a pre Bologna degree in Materials Engineering from the Higher Technical Institute of the University of Lisbon, a master’s degree in Materials Engineering from the Faculty of Science and Technology at the New University of Lisbon, and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering completed at IN+ – Higher Technical Institute, University of Lisbon. He served for more than twelve years as a technical advisor in a state laboratory dedicated to quality control of textiles and composite materials and has contributed to numerous R&D projects as a researcher, project manager, and local scientific advisor. His work spans Lisbon, Porto, and Coimbra Universities, where he focused on the synthesis, characterization, and performance evaluation of advanced materials. He is currently a doctorate researcher at IN+, integrated in the Thermofluids, Combustion and Energy Systems Laboratory, where he investigates and develops innovative materials for superhydrophobic heat transfer surfaces, particularly those devised to operate under extreme wettability conditions.
