Hamid Shafiee

PhD Candidate Thermofluids, Combustion and Energy Systems

Hamid Shafiee is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico and a researcher at IN+. His research focuses on radiative heat transfer from turbulent hydrogen and hydrogen-blended flames, to maintain thermal performance during the transition from fossil fuels in industrial systems. He develops and validates spectral radiation models, supported by experimental measurements and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. Hamid holds an MSc in Energy Conversion from Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman, where he specialized in inverse radiative problems in semitransparent media. He has published in Inverse Problems in Science and Engineering, Geofluids, International Journal of Thermofluids, and ZAMM – Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, and brings prior R&D experience in thermal system design and energy efficiency from both academic and industrial settings.
