Filipa Grilo is a biologist whose research focuses on ecosystem services assessment and the strategic role of nature-based solutions (NbS) in addressing climate change mitigation, adaptation, and urban biodiversity goals. She completed her PhD at the Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes (CE3C), Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, where she investigated the social and ecological drivers influencing urban green infrastructure and ecosystem service provision, with particular attention to climate regulation. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at IN+, where she studies the potential of NbS for carbon removal in urban areas, in collaboration with more than 20 Portuguese municipalities pursuing climate neutrality by 2030.
