Carla Costa is assistant professor at Utrecht University in The Netherlands. She graduated in 2013 from a Ph.D. in Technological Change and Entrepreneurship in the scope of the CMU-Portugal partnership. She received a M.Sc. degree from IST in 2002 in Engineering Policy and Management of Technology and graduated in 1994 with a 5-year B.S. in Business Administration at ISCTE, both in Portugal. Carla worked at the Portuguese Governmental Agency for Innovation where she provided support to the development of technology-based companies. She also worked at a biotech business incubator and at IST's entrepreneurship office. Her research interests focus on the area of strategy. She’s interested in industry dynamics, entrepreneurship, development of technology-based industries, and regional economic development.
