In an interview with Rádio Observador about the ongoing debate on the future of the Portuguese Science Law, Manuel Heitor highlighted three aspects that he considers critical at the current time in Europe and in the world: 1) the need to continue to increase investment in science and innovation, 2) the importance of this review of the Science Law accompanying the ongoing review of European cohesion policy, and 3) the increasingly important need to simplify and modernize the funding and evaluation schemes for science and innovation.
