Manuel Heitor on Choose Europe 18/09/2025

During the European Research & Innovation (R&I) Days 2025, Manuel Heitor participated at the "Choose Europe for Science" session, where he insisted on the need for Europe to promote and further increase "choose Europe". Following the report "Align, Act, Accelerate" and the "CESAER research careers survey 2024", Heitor defended that Europe needs a strong "choose Europe" program making use of the co-fund mechanism existing at the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) to effectively promote research and innovation careers in Europe and induce new governance procedures and practices to contract young adults throughout Europe. Heitor stressed how it is important starting with research and innovation to adopt new practices in Europe to deal with the "quality of jobs" for young adults, which is becoming a serious political issue throughout Europe. "We definitely need to abolish precarious jobs for young adults and turn Europe in the best world region for young adults to thrive!”
