IN+ PhD candidate João Pires was awarded last October 1st, at the MIT Portugal 2018 Annual Conference, with the best poster under the category Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing.
During the MIT-Portugal annual conference, key achievements of the Program partnership are shared with members of Portugal's scientific and entrepreneurial communities, and a poster session is featured with contributions from MIT-Portugal PhD students and those involved in ongoing research projects, and an exhibition of models and prototypes developed at MIT and at Portuguese universities.
João Pires is currently a PhD Candidate in Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing, within the MIT Portugal Program. Its PhD project focus on exploring alternative technological strategies to extend the current operability limits of gas-fired burners and reduce their pollutant emissions.
