Last Wednesday, February 20, finalist students from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Aveiro and Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, were awarded for the projects that best contribute to promoting sustainable energy systems and good energy efficiency practices in Galp's client entities, under the 12th edition of the Galp21 university cooperation program. Luís Moreira, director of IN +, participated in the ceremony.
Created to stimulate the transfer of knowledge and innovation between the business world and the academic world, the Galp21 university cooperation program allocates 21 research grants annually to IST, AU and FEUP finalist students. Since 2007, more than 230 students have completed internships and developed projects in more than 220 Galp client entities, contributing to the sustainability of energy business partners.
In the 2018 edition of Galp21, 69 initiatives were proposed, corresponding to an investment by companies of 5.4 million euros and with a potential saving of almost 3 million euros per year. The measures proposed in 2018 had a potential energy saving of 5% and a reduction in CO2 emissions of 4%.
