The Circular Seas Contest aims to support research in eco-innovation and circular economy, and has an open call for scientific and business projects that offer solutions to the problem of marine litter. Divided into two categories, StartUps and Research Centers, the contest offers a prize of €8500 to each of the winners.
In the case of start-ups, projects are intended to develop solutions to environmental problems generated by waste in aquatic environments based on the principles and methodologies of circular economy and sustainability. For research centres, projects are intended to increase knowledge about the problems and impacts of marine litter and solid waste, offering alternatives for their reduction and solutions that promote the circular economy. Applications are open until October 28, 2022.
