Capstone Projects 2025/26 06/06/2025
Capstone projects are a new model for master dissertations, in the shape of multidisciplinary, integrative curricular projects designed to address real-world challenges. They offer an innovative approach to completing a degree in Engineering, Science, and Architecture at Técnico, with significant impact on student training, strengthening the link between Academia and Society, and fostering technological and societal development.
These projects will be developed by a group of students over the course of an academic year in the curricular units of 2nd cycle Curricular Integrated Project (PIC2) and of Master's Dissertation, under the formal supervision of IST professors.
If 2025/2026 will be your last year of Master's degree, this is your chance to apply to participate in a Capstone project. Among 14 new projects under the next edition, four of them have supervision by IN+ researchers:
- Classification of Housing Vulnerabilities in Portugal (with supervision by Joana Portugal Pereira and Joana Fernandes)
- Fiona, roads and people (with supervision by Patrícia Baptista)
- Impacts of Climate Change on Air Quality and Health: A Multidisciplinary Approach (with supervision by Patrícia Baptista)
- Helianthus – Solar-Powered Lightweight Rail System (with supervision by Patrícia Baptista)
