Within the scope of the Humanitarian Engineering UC, a seminar about the organization Doctors Without Borders will take place on:
27 october (Friday), from 1pm-2.30 pm
In room VA2 (Civil Engineering, Floor -1)
The lecture will be given by the Doctors Without Borders representative in Portugal (João Antunes) and an IST alumnus who currently works for the organization. The lecture is open to all IST students interested in the subject.
The speakers will share their experience of working in a humanitarian context. Although the name of the organization doesn't give it away, the organization doesn't just work with health professionals, but also with specialists in various areas, such as information technology, construction, energy, water and sanitation, logistics, among others. All Doctors Without Borders employees are paid professionals with previous work experience. Doctors Without Borders does not work on a volunteer basis or with recent graduates.
