2nd Edition of the DEM Industry Day invites students to present their research to the industry 06/07/2023
The 2nd Edition of the DEM Industry Day will take place on October 31st, 2023, and aims to bring together teachers, researchers, students and companies from various sectors, in order to stimulate and facilitate future cooperation between the DEM and business. Find the the here the full programme.
In this event will be presented mechanisms of collaboration with funded projects, pitches from companies with proposed challenges, and pitches of master's dissertations and doctoral thesis candidates for best pitch awards. The DEM's ability to respond to business challenges will also be discussed, and there will be a roundtable to address the challenges of Industry 5.0: sustainability, resilience, human-centric.
DEM students are invited to submit a poster of their Master's Dissertation or PhD Thesis as long as it meets the following criteria:
- Be clearly of interest to Industry and/or Society
- Fulfillment of formal and aesthetic criteria
- Was finished during or after June 2022, or is in progress;
- The work is supervised by a faculty member of the DEM, or a PhD researcher of a research center associated to the DEM (CENTEC, IDMEC, IN+ and MARETEC) and linked to IST
From the Posters selected for exhibition during the event, the DEM's Executive Committee will select a restricted set of Dissertations and Theses to be candidate for the Awards and to be presented orally as a pitch (regulations and values of the awards will be disclosed later).
Deadline to be retained:
- September 30, 2023: Application and submission of digital version of the poster (file "Dissertation/Thesis_NameStudent_Dia Industria DEM23.PDF" based on file Poster_Dia da Industria_template.pptx) to dem@tecnico.ulisboa.pt.
- October 15, 2023: Information to the candidates of the decision of the Dissertations and Theses selected, and those selected to make the Pitch as Prize candidates.
- October 22, 2023: Submission of 2 slides by the selected candidates for the Pitch to dem@tecnico.ulisboa.pt.
