Sandra Dias is a Contracted Researcher at the Laboratory of Thermofluids, Combustion and Energy Systems part of the Center for Innovation, Technology & Policy Research (IN+).
She holds a PhD in Chemistry from The Kent University at Canterbury, United Kingdom. During her PhD she worked on the synthesis of supramolecular materials with liquid crystalline properties. She worked as post-doctoral researcher in Portugal at Instituto Técnologico e Nuclear, REQUIMTE Unidade de Ciências Biomoleculares Aplicadas and Instituto de Telecomicações.
Her main areas of interest are: Thermoelectric generators (TEGs) for waste-heat recovery, the influence of Direct Current (DC) electric fields in flame stability and Hydrogen Combustion.
She is also Lab Manager at the Laboratory of Thermofluids, Combustion and Energy Systems since April 2016.
