MH-1 satellite model donated to Ciência Viva 08/03/2024

The model of the Portuguese MH-1 satellite, given to Manuel Heitor at the space launch event, has been donated to Ciência Viva - National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture. The model was built at CEiiA to life-size dimensions of 10x10x30 cm and will be on display at the Pavilion of Knowledge in Lisbon.

The name of the MH-1 satellite was chosen as a tribute to Manuel Heitor's contribution to strengthening the Portuguese scientific and innovation ecosystem and the creation of a Portuguese strategy for space, during his time in the Portuguese government (Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education between 2015-2022 and Secretary of State of Science, Technology and Higher Education between 2005-2011).
