Ricardo Cautela was born and raised in Lisbon. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, and specialized in the Energies Field. Ricardo joined the IN+ team when he started to work on his MSc Thesis. Currently he’s a researcher in the Thermofluids, Combustion and Energy Systems Laboratory where he develops new types of surfaces in order to improve its heat transfer capabilities in pool boiling conditions. His research already took him to Jilin University, in China, where he employed new techniques in order to advance his investigation on biphilic surfaces. His work was also important for the publishing of 6 new articles.
