Ana S. Moita PhD (2009), MSc (2004) and Diploma Engineer (2001) in Mechanical Engineering is a Post-Doc researcher at the Laboratory of Interfacial plus Micro-Scale Transport Phenomena in the Center for Innovation, Technology & Policy Research, IN+, at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa.
Her research addresses the experimental and theoretical descritpion of liquid-solid interfacial phenomena on complex surfaces, with application to cooling systems, energy conversion and biomedical devices. In parallel wider applications of these studies of transport phenomena addrress energy conversion systems for vehicles (e.g. Waste Recovery Heat Systems). PI of 1 national project and 1 international project she is the author of 24 papers in scientific journals, 3 book chapters and nearly 50 in international conferences with referees.
She earned an Honorable Mention in the Young Scientists Awards for the year of 2009 and a Prize in the same awards for the year of 2010.
