2019 call for PhD scholarships will be open to researchers from all fields of knowledge, from February 28 to March 28, 2019.
This year, the submission can be made through the new CIÊNCIAVITAE curriculum platform, which will soon replace platforms such as FCT|SIG CV and DeGóis. The submission of undergraduate and masters degrees at the time of application is no longer required as a criterion for admissibility. Only students who wish to benefit from the score attributed due to the degree and/or master's degree must present the documentation in the application.
The PhD Scholarships are competitively awarded grants to support the training of scientists in all areas of knowledge in obtaining a PhD degree. They allow young researchers to dedicate themselves exclusively to their research, thus contributing to the scientific and technological development of the country. FCT currently supports some 5,000 PhD fellowships. This year 950 scholarships will be awarded.
The research work to be carried out by the candidates in this competition may be carried out in any knowledge-intensive environment, in particular in collaboration with companies and other public and private institutions, including Public Administration. Host institutions can be R&D Units, State Laboratories, Associated Laboratories, Collaborative Laboratories or Interface Centers.
